    Hold your iron horses!

    in Business & Corporate Laws

By Renato P. Magbalon III, Sangalang & Gaerlan, Business Lawyers My 2 cents worth on RA11135 or aka as the "Doble Plaka" bill. I cannot call myself an expert on motorcycles but I surely do love riding. More than half of my life I have been riding one and is still learning, while enjoying, riding it every single day. The riding community is on an uproar regarding the requirement under the new law that all motorcycles shall be required to have bigger plates, readable from the front and dorsal side of each motorcycle. Scattered all over the internet are mimics of the actual size of the proposed Doble Plaka. However, upon careful perusal of the law there is yet to have a specific size dimension of these plates. It is clear that the LTO, in its IRR shall determine its exact size. THERE IS YET NO IRR TO DATE. The purpose of the law is noble, and yes, the outcry of the rider communities are valid; but this is what happens if we are too aggressive to push on an advocacy without proper study of the information we gather. Let us not all be combative and be pulled from the vacuum of an information hurricane caused by misinformation. For now, let us all hold on to our iron horses and wait for the LTO's IRR.
