About The Event
The entire Luzon island has been placed under extended "Enhanced Community Quarantine" by President Rodrigo R. Duterte due to the CoVid-19 outbreak. He also declared a State of Calamity for a period of 6 months throughout the Philippines. He was granted Emergency Powers by the Philippine Legislature under the Republic Act No. 11469 (or "Bayahihan to Heal as One Act") to address the State of Public Health Emergency.
Many establishments were required to suspend operations or operate under work-from-home (WFH) arrangements.
RA 11165 or the Telecommuting Act governs the relationship between employers and telecommuting employees.
However, not all WFH workers are telecommuting employees. Some are freelancers or independent contractors.
Telecommuting employees can be further classified into field personnel, workers paid based on results, managerial employees, officers and members of a managerial staff, and rank-and-file employees working remotely.
Learn how to hire, pay, control and fire WFH workers. Learn how to comply with data privacy and occupational safety and health standards for WFH workers.
Join us in an online learning event (webinar) on the law and best practices of work-from-home arrangements as we wait out this extended "lockdown" and practice "strict social distancing" to prevent the spread of the Corona Virus contagion.
